DDG SWO Pin

$21.00

The Surface Warfare Officer (SWO) pin, officially known as the Surface Warfare Insignia, was first awarded in 1975 to provide a distinct identity and sense of pride for U.S. Navy officers specializing in surface warfare. Created to identify a cadre of professional mariners operating U.S. warships, it was a response to the established insignia of naval aviators and submariners. The design features the bow of a modern naval warship superimposed on two crossed swords against a background of ocean swells.

However, as I I looked at my SWO pin I thought, "what if we updated the ship?" so with a little creativeness and a few hours of work and weeks of trial and error I did just that. I remade the classic SWO pin with a modern day ship. Specifically the backbone of the navy known as a Arleigh burke class destroyer. same size and everything as the original pin with the two pins on the back for mounting.

In addition if you would like your pin engraved definitely add that option and we can get that squared away for you! could do names, hull number, anything really. each pin comes with a matching sticker. seriously these things are rad and great for any SWOtivator in the fleet. Or maybe just your jorge.

If you do want an engraving just leave a note of what you would like at check out.
(3rd picture has an example of a hull number engraved on it)
